Public Goods Facial Cleanser (Review)

Public Goods is a new company that bloomed from its Kickstarter campaign back in 2017.

According to their campaign page and their website, Public Goods’ mission is to create and deliver safe, healthy products at an affordable price.

They do this by cutting out the middlemen (brand, distributer and retailer) and simply bringing the products from their factory to your home.

To purchase from Public Goods, one must become a member. After a one-month free trial that gives you access to all of their products, one can become a lifetime member for a one-time fee of $99, or pay a yearly fee of $59.

All of their products are made with natural, non-toxic ingredients, and their entire operation is cruelty free! So you can feel good about every purchase you make.

I signed up for the Public Goods free trial and ordered a box of goods including a razor with a pack of blades, the facial cleanser, toothpaste, dish soap, produce bags (2), and deodorant.

When I received the package in the mail, I was glad to see pretty minimalist packaging. A few of the products came right in the box with no extra packaging around them (yay!), and some of the goods were in cardboard, but there were still a few items with plastic wrapping, which I found unnecessary.

The first item I have used enough to boast about is the facial cleanser.

An awesome feature to note about this item, and all others in the shop, is the simplistic design. I love the simple packaging of the product, which is intentionally designed to declutter your home and fit in with your other belongings. I love the minimalist aspect of the company!

This facial cleanser is a foaming soap. I have actually never used a foaming face wash before, but I like how light it is on the face.

I was initially worried that the fragrance would be too strong after reading that the fragrance ingredient was peppermint oil. I have a hard time with products that have too strong of a scent.

But the first time I pumped the cleanser into my hand and smelled it, I was pleasantly surprised at how subtle the fragrance was. The peppermint is in no way overbearing, and it was a nice, refreshing smell!

When I washed my face with the cleanser, I felt no tingling or unpleasant feelings. The product was smooth and easy on the skin. I have a bit more sensitive skin than the average person, and this product caused me zero irritation or other problems!

After use, my skin felt clean and smooth, and I couldn’t wait to use it again! I don’t wash my face every day, so I typically use this product two or three times a week.

I am extremely pleased with this product and am very excited to continue using it. I love that it has all-natural ingredients and is free of chemicals such as parabens, sulfates and even gluten!

I have since purchased the lifetime membership to Public Goods and am excited to continue using this product in the future.

I have many other Public Goods products to try, and I cannot wait to share my honest opinions about them with you all!
